This module will introduce learners to the concepts of climate change, its causes, impacts and appropriate adaptation and mitigation strategies. It will cover the core debates that address myths peddled by climate change denialists and anti-environmentalism, as well as evolutions and distinctions between climate action and climate justice.

- Session 2This session introduces participants to the related concepts of climate change adaptation and resilience building including how these climate action approaches are framed in the UNFCCC and related processes. It also covers the principles of locally led adaptation actions.1
- Session 3(Splitting into groups)- Community Adaptation Committees (CACs)8
- 3.1Communicate and share the adaptation plan and its outcomes with the wide community as well as with other actors with regional levels to foster learning, collaboration and scaling-up of good practices.1 Hour
- 3.2Develop and implement the adaptation actions, ensuring that they are aligned with the local development plans and policies integrated across sectors and scales, monitored and evaluated regularly and adaptive to changing circumstances and feedback.1 Hour
- 3.3Analyze the adaptation options and strategies that are available, feasible, effective, equitable and sustainable in the local context considering the tradeoffs, synergies, co- benefits and risks involved1 Hour
- 3.4Identify the adaptation goals and objectives that reflect the local needs, priorities, values, and aspirations as well as the national and global commitments and targets1 Hour
